ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?
Lead the planning and execution of technical projects related to new equipment installation, infrastructure improvement or modification of the existing ones to fulfill the requirements of the production departments while upholding BAT standards for quality & EHS.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Ensure all Capex projects are planned, driven, and completed within specified budgets, timelines, and as per company policies.
- Maintain a continuous focus on EH&S standards and ensure all projects conform to regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with external suppliers, machine manufacturers, and internal departments to ensure successful project delivery.
- BAT Project Management methodology and Initiative Management techniques to ensure projects are executed efficiently and detailed accurately.
- Collaborate with production and other stakeholders to optimize prioritisation, manage Capex expenditure within budget, and provide necessary documentation for project approval.
- Foster a culture of openness and continuous improvement within the team, ensuring proper training, succession planning, and regular performance reviews.
- Work closely with local Operations, Procurement, and other business partners to ensure projects align with company policies and strategies.
- Promote continuous improvement, share knowledge across functions, and implement best practices to enhance project outcomes and speed-to-market

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
Experience Required
- University degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics) with 4-6 years of project management experience in manufacturing facilities.
- Strong understanding of factory operations, mechanical engineering, and basic electrical engineering, with experience in design documentation, testing, and equipment commissioning.
- High-level interpersonal skills, effective time and change management abilities, and experience in contract management with good negotiation skills.
- Good knowledge of Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S), factory operations, financial controls, budgetary accounting, and legal requirements for contracts and agreements.
- Ensure all projects have an approved Business Case, are completed on time and within budget, and all necessary documentation for legal, financial, and BAT reporting is completed.
- Directly manage a Projects Engineer and indirectly manage support officers, coordinating with various departments such as Engineering, Finance, EH&S, and regional managers.
- Work closely with external machinery suppliers, engineering consultants, and contractors for quotations, technical issues, project progress, and performance feedback.
- Report directly to the Engineering & Site Services Manager, while coordinating with regional engineering, manufacturing, and finance teams to ensure project alignment with business needs.
