British American Tobacco Poland has an exciting opportunity for an EHS & SUSTAINABILITY MANAGER in Warsaw

Key Objectives and Expectations: The key purpose of this role is to implement and maintain the best EHS & ESG practices of control the EHS risks in compliance with the BAT standards, policies and the local legal requirements to reduce to minimum the risk of accidents, professional illness and environment damage.

Impact on Team or Organization: Create the safest conditions for people and the environment within company premises and ensure all EHS legal provisions are implemented, aiming for zero incidents.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Strategy Implementation: Lead and implement the EHS strategy at the organizational level and support collaboration among departments to achieve Group EHS program implementation.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential and existing risks impacting employee health and safety and the environment.
  • Awareness Programs: Develop programs to raise awareness about health, safety, environment, and emergency situations, reducing potential EHS risks.
  • Instructions and Approvals: Design and implement specific EHS instructions, considering the company's nature and job specifics, and obtain necessary approvals from the employer.
  • Budget and Objectives: Develop and manage the EHS budget and objectives (short and medium term) and ensure expenses fit within the approved budget.
  • Support and Guidance: Offer support and guidance to managers to understand their EHS responsibilities and implement EHS management systems, programs, and procedures.
  • Site Inspections: Perform site inspections to identify issues and unsafe practices, define action plans, and supervise follow-up.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all legal and BAT requirements, maintain records, report EHS issues, and develop rehabilitation programs for employees involved in work accidents.

What are we looking for?

  • University degree in technical, legal, compliance, or environmental sustainability area.
  • H&S training in line with legal requirements for Head of EHS (Head of internal preventive and protective service).
  • At least 5 years of experience in EHS, preferably in a multinational company and at least 3 years of experience in the ESG area.
  • Effective communication and fluency in English.
  • Experience in internal and external audits.
  • Knowledge of applicable legal requirements (EHS, emergency situations).
  • Ability to drive complex EHS & ESG initiatives at the company level.
  • Proficiency with technical equipment and digital communication tools.
