ROLE PROFILE
JOB TITLE : Assistant Commercial Finance Manager (Ops)
FUNCTION : Finance
CITY & COUNTRY : Soloman Island – Honiara
REPORTS TO : Head of Finance
ROLE SUMMARY
Business
Operational/Technical/Professional Results:
- Prepare useful information for informed judgements – Operations Report, Financial Analysis etc.
- To identify and communicate exceptional items within the operations and generate discussions entailing next steps.
- Work closely with Head of Departments to capture reasons for state of financials and record in BW reports, driving continuous improvement.
- To complete General Ledger Reconciliations per schedule.
- Assist in completing relevant Company Plan, QPR and Sensitivity inputs
- To complete monthly and quarterly reports for Operations
- Assist the Finance Manager to ensure compliance with Excise requirements
- To deliver changes regarding new product launches & Excise changes.
- To ensure adequate controls are in place over parts and Materials
- Ensuring compliance between OPS KPI and the methodology prescribed by Ops Metrics
- Drive Continuous improvement in Operations Finance Excellence Index
- To provide Support to Finance Manager & Operations Manager on Operations Finance related matters.
People

- Establish personal leadership agendas for self and direct reports.
- Actively lead the finance team in establishing and delivering.
- Support the Line Manager to build an environment and culture that will enable the Finance Function to achieve and contribute to the goals of the organization.
- Play a lead role in developing and building people leadership capabilities of the Senior Finance Team in line with the BAT’s leadership pipeline model
- Support and encourage the finance team to deliver the leadership agenda of the finance vision
Management Results:
- Support the Line Manager to enable delivery of key strategic initiatives or projects within the required quality, time, and budget constraints - ensuring that resources are effectively allocated in the process.
- Support and encourage the finance team to provide proactive value adding business support.
- Actively lead the senior finance team to effectively prioritise and manage the finance resources and key deadlines
- Ensure the Company applies effective risk management and tight financial discipline with absolute integrity.
Relationship Results:
- Actively contribute to & supports an aligned finance team
- Leverage and support area relationships to drive overall effectiveness
- Develop and supports effective relationships with internal & external partner
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
- University Degree in Accounting Business or Economics
- Diploma qualified in Business Finance (Distinction)
- Computer literate - Experience in SAP and Microsoft Office.
- Working towards advanced staff management capabilities
- Proven ability to successfully present & influence at Senior Management level.
- Advanced analytical, interpersonal, communication (oral & written), negotiation and planning skills
