Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical advisory and becoming the single point of contact on tax guidance with respect to accounting and regulatory developments to include actual reporting and forecasting; involvement in existing processes is expected to ensure appropriate integration of evolving developments;
  • Proactive monitoring of accounting standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring that corporate tax reporting is proactively meeting the changing regulatory and accounting environment;
  • Preparing proposal papers on the application of tax improvements, accounting and regulatory developments ensuring technical accuracy, impact analysis on primary statements, key performance indicators and Non-GAAP measures through appropriate business application, drafting of proposed disclosure requirements and clear articulation of risks and mitigations;
  • Tax assessing differences across all accounting and regulatory updates to include how these impact tax critical metrics;
  • Reviewing actual and forecast data from the Group’s reporting system within timeline to ensure accurate application of tax accounting and regulatory changes;
  • Developing system capabilities to ensure the most efficient and effective approach to align with accounting and regulatory developments across the Group, including actuals reporting, true up procedures and forecasting;
  • Documenting and drafting new business processes for annual and interim actual reporting and for forecast tax rate reporting, in accordance with accounting and regulatory developments;
  • Developing and following associated SOx controls;
  • Ensuring all developments are built into the tax reporting timetable and business as usual resourcing requirements are appropriately assessed to ensure accounting and regulatory developments are implemented into ongoing reporting in a governed manner;
  • Creating and implementing training and communication plans to the Global Tax & Finance function;
  • Coordinating consistent compliance across end markets.

What are we looking for?

  • Degree educated with relevant professional accountancy/legal/tax qualification;
  • Financial reporting experience required with IFRS and US GAAP expertise strongly preferred;
  • Experience of implementing changes in accounting standards or regulations within a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment preferred;
  • A detailed understanding and knowledge of relevant finance tools and systems to include SAP and BPC;
  • Effective working relationships across multiple collaborators – including non-finance;
  • Ability to work under pressure, keep to tight deadlines and be motivated to deal with ambiguity;
  • Excellent tax accounting knowledge and SOx
