WE ARE LOOKING FOR A DIRECTOR COMMERCIAL BUSINESS ARCHITECT

SENIORITY LEVEL: Senior Level

FUNCTION: Growth Management Department, Marketing Division

LOCATION: Winston-Salem, NC

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

Reports to: Guy Etheridge, SDR Analytics and Architecture

Number of Direct Reports: Approx. 3-5

Core Relationships:

Internal: Marketing, IT, Commercial Leaders, TomorrowLabs Team

External: Clients, Vendors, Partners

Geographic Scope: Local

Travel Required: 20% of travel required

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Develop and maintain a robust enterprise data architecture that aligns with the company's strategic goals and business needs.
  • Design and implement data models, data marts, and data warehouses to support the needs of the Growth Management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all data sources and systems.
  • Establish and guide modern data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define data requirements and prioritize data initiatives and optimization.
  • Guide data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage practices.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, data analysts and data scientists to enable advanced analytics and machine learning capabilities to drive strategic outcomes.
  • Support the development of data-driven insights and recommendations to inform business decisions.
  • Foster a data-driven culture within the organization by promoting data literacy and data-centric thinking.
  • Lead and mentor a team of data analysts and engineers.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, data and strategy-driven team culture.
  • Build and present executive-level data stories to drive commercial performance discussions and outcomes.
  • Manage and communicate project expectations, KPI’s, deliverables and timelines with key business and IT stakeholders.

CAN THIS BE YOUR FUTURE ROLE?

  • Do you have experience leading a team in a data architect role?
  • Are you proficient in using advanced data architecture and program management methodologies?
  • Are you interested in greenfield opportunities where you can use your wits to find business opportunities by integrating large volumes of siloed data?
  • Do you enjoy defining and pitching strategies to senior leadership?

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience Required: Minimum 5-7 years in data architecture or related field.
  • Skills Required: Strong stakeholder relationship and facilitation skills, excellent communication and presentation skills, proficiency in data architecture tools and methodologies, and experience with program management.
  • Education / Qualifications / Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Data Architecture, Information Systems, or related experience.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling techniques (e.g., dimensional modeling, data vault) and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A passion for data and a desire to drive business value with data-driven insights.

The following is a general summary of the competitive compensation and benefit plans we offer:

  • 401(k) plan that offers opportunity to save on pre- and post-tax basis up to 50 percent of eligible compensation.
    • Company matches 100 percent of employee pre-tax/Roth (401k) contributions up to six percent
    • Company contributes an additional three percent to 401(k) whether employee participates or not
