British American TobaccoAlgeriais looking for a Utilities Supervisor in Oran

This role is part of the Operations – Manufacturing function of the BAT factory in Oran, Algeria.

The role is responsible for managing the Factory Utilities Department, whose main duties are to provide Engineering Services (Technical/Maintenance of Infrastructures/Hardware Systems etc) and to supply Utilities (power, steam, air, vacuum, water etc) to support manufacturing and administrative activities in factory.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  •  Effectively manage the Engineering Maintenance & Utilities expenditure and assets within the agreed budget.
  • Responsible for continuity in the supply of utilities – to ensure 100% availability of utilities for production to proceed unhindered. Managing the utilities and buildings management control (e.g. HVAC, lighting etc) system to its optimum condition.
  • To provide adequate support so as to ensure all approved Engineering Capital expenditures are completed on time, in full and within budgets.
  • Energy management; to act as a consultant to all internal departments regarding proactive management of energy consumption.
  • Ensure compliance to all regulatory requirements related to all engineering installations at site.
  • Ensure a continuous focus on EH&S in Engineering Utilities following EH&S guidelines and standards.
  • Assist the Production Department to ensure good quality product through prompt response on support jobs.
  • To maintain a professional and well-motivated team, ensuring appropriate training and development to ensure succession for all key positions. And to promote coaching and champion people development so that is taken up at all levels of the organization – ensuring a self-sustaining organization

What are we looking for?

  • Professional qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering with 3 years of experience with operation and maintenance in a manufacturing facility
  • Proven experience of industrial management
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to take clear decisions in different and difficult situations and a high degree of innovation.
  • Experience in contract - management and good negotiation skills
  • Has good knowledge of Environment, Health & Safety, Processing & Factory Operations skills, personnel administration, and its governing laws
  • Full appreciation of financial controls, budgetary accounting, government and other controls, supplier evaluation and legal requirements for contracts / agreements.
