Based in Istanbul and reporting to Cluster Corporate Finance Senior Manager as part of the Corporate Finance Team, the role will take the lead in Accounting and Corporate Finance processes, statutory reporting as well as for ensuring that the entity stays legal and tax compliant at all-time including the Company standards
Reports to: Cluster Senior Corporate Finance Manager
Geographic Scope: Turkey
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, intercompany balances and taxes
- Monthly reporting and control of local GAAP ledger, statutory accounts in BPC, full pack reporting at fast close and year end and production of reporting schedule evidence that accurately ties and supports entries to Group reported numbers across all entities
- Production of the annual statutory accounts for all entities in line with local GAAP requirements
- Preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations
- Working closely with Accounting Shared Services to accomplish daily tasks.
- Working in alignment with external auditors to conclude annual audit and file accounts to time
- Preparation and review of impairment exercises with respect to Company investments in group subsidiaries and other investments held at fair value
- Ensuring accounting related SoX controls are executed on a timely manner.
- Liaising between Accounting and Corporate Finance to ensure timely and correct Group Financial Reporting.
- Full review of accounts payable/receivable and intercompany positions to ensure no mismatches
- Managing statutory recharge process to ensure entities report the correct statutory level profit e.g. trademarks
- Completion of statutory returns on time and accurately
- Other ad-hoc tasks as requested by Head of Finance
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Degree educated with professional accountancy qualification (i.e. SMMM,CA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Relevant experience in a similar role or audit firm background
- Proficiency in SAP modules and Microsoft Office applications
- A good understanding of group and corporate finance principles/experience and ability
- Appreciation of taxation consequences as part of financial reporting would be useful
- Ability to handle a high volume of data and present in a simple, innovative and impactful way using all current systems to simplify and automate information management. i.e. SAP/ BI/BPC
- Resilience and strong prioritization skills
- Ability to identify process and reporting improvements and proactively implement solutions
- Ability to work independently handling stakeholders across a wide range of locations
- Ability to work as an effective Business Partner with a collaborative and flexible style, due to various functions involvement
- Strong communication and inter-personal skills are required to influence and challenge
- Maintains excellent working relationships with all stakeholders and is a great teammate
- Advanced English language skills
- People Management Experience is an asset
